Ok so its that time again... well accually im being forced to fix this sh1t, my 3 months are up and i have lots of emission work to do before i start the hardcore modding for next season.

For my car the Standard is ;

-Idle HC Std = 342.00
-Idle CO Std = 3.90

My last test results were ;

-Idle HC = 1034.00
-Idle CO = 0.86

*Since I failed at the first test they did not run my on the other tests, so im not sure about there standards *

My car has zero emissions equipment, but ill be getting some Universial Cats and fab them so i can bolt them in and out...

(how much do they help? and what do they help the most on?)

What other things can i do to help this car pass... i should be able to pass with this cam.

thx

you can get three way cats that help hc co and Nox. My car wont pass air care when its tuned the best. I have to bolt in my cat, lower my fuel pressure, and retard the shit out of the timing (making it run like crap) then it passes with flying colours. I do this every year. Also might need to put a hotter themostat in to let the engine heat up more and burn off that extra hc. I have a 160 stat but I control my cooling fan with a switch. For air care i let it get hotter than normal but not to hot or Nox will go up

It will still work without an air pump but just takes longer to light off. just plug the tube that comes off the cat.

Pull the hose to your vacuum advance on your distributor plug the hose with something, put 2 liters of methelhydrate(get it at canadain tire) in a full tak of mohawk 94 gas, you'll pass for sure

3 way or not any cat on your car is going to knock the hell out of that HC score. Retarding the timing is going to take care of the CO and for the rest of it; unpluging the vacume advance, Mohawk 94 and making sure your engine in hot when you pull in is so easy to do you should always do it on principle.

The last time I went thrue aircare I past and when I was still on on the property I popped my hood reset my timing, pluged in my vacume avance and left poluting as much as I ever did but with a passing score 8) Aircare is just a nother goverment fuck up. Good luck with your car.

just took my car though again, retarded the timing 4 degrees, pumped up the idle to 1200 or so, then leaned it out a bit... ran it passed everything but CO. My best guess is that the jets are to big... but im not going to screw with that, so im just going to put a qjet and im good to go.
