I drive an 89 Formla Firebird and I am building a 350 for it. I found some 88 Corvette heads for it but I noticed that the new heads do not have the EGR port in the center like stock cast iron heads. How does the Corvette Re-circulate exhaust gas back into the cylinder with out this exhaust port? and can I retro fit the Corvette EGR system onto my car?

EGR = bad, who needs thos emissions crap :P i say dont use it, you can still get by aircare without it ;D

thanks for the tip. here's my next question. How do you get low NOX numbers at aircare without an EGR? I always retard my timing for aircare and I can see maybe raising my fuild preasure to help cool the combustion chamber but then I run the risk of failing the hydrocarbin test. Any suggestions?

Sounds good, I'm just running a stock cam so that should be fine then :)

You don't happen to know how the Corvette EGR system worked in 1988 do you?

Scoggin Dickey Performance ( www.sdpc2000.com ) offers an EGR adapter (#E2899) and adapter fitting (#12552329) for setting up an external EGR system with Vortec heads, which don't have the EGR ports like the Corvette heads you described. Worth looking into...
