Italy shouldnt have beaten Australia, a rediculous dive by Grosso in the penalty box after added time and giving them a 1-0 after Totti scored his penalty kick. Italy's entire tournament was full of luck and grossly overexaggerated diving. It makes me sick to my stomach watching them play any match of football, let alone winning the world cup.

And the Zidane headbutt really isnt that much of a surprise, I bet Materazzi had said something to him to provoke him and Zidane's temper went off. Zidane has shown before with rough shoves and stomps that he has a bad temper (maybe not quite Rooney level though haha)

i couldnt agree more about how dissapointed i was with zidane thou. horrible finish to an otherwise amazing yet colourful career. The '98 stomping of the saudi captain was the only other incident i personally remember of him pulling such a stunt, and it cost him 3 games, but remember that it was also in '98 that he got 2 goals in the final to give France the championship

my boss was listnin to the radio at work and called me over when a story about it came up today on the news

apparently all zidane would reveal is that yes his mother and sister were ridiculed by materazzi. then the news crew went out on the streets of paris. evry person they talked to forgave Zidane and said FIFA should impose some sort of sanctions against Italy or at least materazzi for the unsportsmanlike conduct
