Does anyone know off-hand if the S10 and Camaro rear ends are the same? I'm talking just the gears. I know the axles aren't the same, but what about the gears.....

So I could get the 4.11 and stuff it in my housing huh? Since I'm at 3.42 now, that would take me from 2400RPM at 70mph to 2880RPM at 70 and give me 20% more torque at the wheels. I'm trying to compensate for the lack of two pistons... ;D

yes it would fit, since you have the 3.42's already the carrier will be the same. and you would get better torque multiplication, at the cost of gas milege of course ;D

Sweet deal! I'll have to call them up and get a quote for the 4.10. I should be able to get the correct speedo cable gears then too right?

Thats the one right? Is it a straight forward process to change the gears out? I've only seen the inside of these a couple of times.

yup thats it :) but id recommend getting a certified shop to do it, there is a crush sleeve that it needs for the pinion, and the bearings are pressed on. plus you need a micro meter to measure backlash and stuff. special equip is needed. and the better the ring and pinion is set up the stronger it will be, and avoids premature wear and failure :)
