doubt it was as the car was orderd in Ohio, also thats not a players cage. but i did notice the black valve covers on it which indicates its a 92 engine, so mabe its a late produced 91 and got a 92 engine?

Nah, not an R7U car at all...it has none of the R7U options to match.

This car has radio delete, roll up windows, standard interior with the high-back buckets, etc...plus I don't think that you could order an R7U in that color, as far as I know they were limited to red, white, blue and black.

And as far as the black valve covers go, most regular 1992 TPI cars I've seen have silver ones - leading me to believe the black valve covers are for warranty replacement and 1992 R7U engines only.

Non R7U cars with the original factory engines should all have silver valve covers. Being an obvious race car with a cage and all, I'd suspect this car has had it's bullet replaced at one time.

Though I'll bet GM was running out of silver covers by the end of 1992 and they may have substituted the black "truck" covers on a few cars...
