'Security' Light on 96z28

In the last week my security light has come on twice while I'm driving.

The first time it came on and stayed on all the way home (about 15 minutes). When I got home I turned off the car and then turned it back on, light was still there. Didn't come one the next morning.

About 5 days later it comes on for about 5 minutes.

What does this light signify? What does it all mean?

Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Ok, I did a google search and came up with a lot of info. Could be the key or the ignition cylinder.

umm if the VATS thing in the key (resistor) is worn down it may cause issues....try using your spare (other) key for a while.
