Jesse...board is another name for forum. This is a room within the board, or forum. Actually, this right here is a post, within a thread, within a room, within a board or forum.

id agree, normally. but look at top of the main page. just under the VF logo. all of the boards (loungin, cars for sale, etc) are under the heading "board name". i guess we think of them as same things cuz we are "on the boards" (plural) but its "on the forum" (singular) unless id noticed that i would have agreed with u lol

BBS= bulletin board system...system of bulletin boards

system aka site=community
board (as in board meeting)= aka forum (as in forum for discussion on a topic)
thread=one piece of the larger whole (e.g thread in a shirt), where 'whole' is the whole/larger discussion
post aka bulletin=post your thought (e.g post-it note)

so it goes

System,Board,Thread,Post ;where system can be interchanged with community and board with forum


In the end you get a system (aka community) of boards (aka forums) comprised of bulletins (aka posts) (organized into threads for simplicity); thus a Bulletin Board System

In the end we are basically on a large, high tech BBS full of tomfoolery.
