th400/700R4

In a 84 firebird, if you swap out the stock 700R4 for a TH400 would anything special be required. ie coolent lines, TV cable and most important: will the original driveshaft work? thanks

i think you will need a longer d-shaft

if my memory serves me correct the th400 is shorter then the 700, requireing tranny crossmember modding, and drive shaft mods. tv cable is for 700 only not th400 you need to get a kickdown cable instead, converters are different also th350/400 are interchangeable, 700 is different :)

Thnx 79, an idiot told me it would be a simple switch with NO modifications. I knew for a fact it was not that simple.
