th350 tail shaft

hi people i need to know what the lenght of the tailshaft for a turbo 350 in a 80 camaro would be , i got a hold of an 9" but dont know if i could put on a 6" if needed without takin the thing apart from the inside out . any help would be much appreciated.

its probly a 6", why do you need a 9" tail shaft?

cause i got the truck for free and the motor and tranny were replaced about 20,000km ago they are like new. truck is wrecked.

This really sucks ass. I had a B&M th350 with a 6" tail shaft sitting in my garage that I couldn't even give away for free in the parts section of this website. I needed a 9" shaft to drop a V8 into an s10 at the time. I figured with all the old school camaro's and firebirds that need the 6" it shouldn't be a problem giving away the transmission for free. People called but never showed up. In the end I recycled it and had to fork out $600 for a th350 like yours with the 9" tail shaft.

My point is that we could have just swapped and everything would have worked out great.

if the tail shaft is like the 4l60e and 700r4 then yes it will swap out, 4 bolts.

no, not the tailshft cover, the output shaft is a diff length. cant change it unless you got the short shaft and cover. which requires taking it appart.
