i dont think youll need a VI, but whats in there now, if its a 305 your emmisions will have to be that of or lower then the 305, if its a v6 again your emmisions will have to be equal or lower then a v6, you can however tell them you have a 350 in there now, there is a procedure of doing it, not sure what it is, just call your local autoplan up and tell them your doing an engine swap to a bigger motor and ask what the procedure is.

i dont think that will work, what if i remember correctly is that you can swap a 305 to a 350 if your car has the option for that year.

This, BTW is the LAST thing you want to do... The reality is that Aircare is displacement dependant... There is this misconception that the bigger the engine the easier it is to pass... Uh NO! It is the EXACT OPPOSITE! Air Care gives the biggest breaks to the small motors... If anything tell Autoplan that you have swapped your 305 for a 2.8 or even a I4... And then hope they don't look.
If you have ICBC document your bigger motor for Aircare it will become VERY difficult, if not impossible, to pass.
