Okay, it's the classic problem were the engine can be heard through the stereo. I get this high pitched whine through the stereo when the trucks running. Here's the weird part, it's not even noticeable when your listening to the radio or stereo. It's when you use the dvd player.

This dvd player plugs into the cigarette adaptor and has it's own tiny speakers. When it's plugged in, the feed back is just mental. I hooked the DVD player through the inputs on my stereo and now it sounds way better without it's little speakers, but the feedback is still there.

I know people say it's a bad ground but then how come the stereo's fine when the I listen to CD's? Also, this truck came with a really funny alternator. It's bigger than stock and it has a regulator that's screwed into the firewall with a bunch of LED's.

I was thinking that my cigarette adaptor probably has the bad grounding or something and not the stereo. Are there products out there that can fix this or am I going to have to go to a car audio install shop?

run wires directly from cig lighter to battery, or hardwire the DVD player to the battery. fuse it if you want.

I just threw in a amp yesterday to run a single 10" JL. I have a fat (totaly overkill) Positive and ground wire running through the cab now to run a little weiner 50 watt amp. Is it okay to run the wires directly through the amps positive lead or should I run a seperate wire for the DVD player all the way to the Battery? It will run off of a better ground now too.

you can run the dvd off the power wire

I'll probably get on it this weekend. Another question. I have another amp sitting around and I needed to know if I could bridge it. It's an old Kenwood and it's a 4 , 3 or 2 channel. I just needed to know if it could be bridged to a single channel even though it doesn't say it can. If it can't, I'll probably drop in a typical 2x 12" subs in a ported box.

rule of thumb is if the specs say not to do it. dont do it
