got lazy and wired it up with the 4 gauge for now... it was there so why the fuck not. maybe on saturday i run the good stuff. anyways its muchhhh louder. i drove my friends down the street (house is at least 200 feet from the road, with trees and another house in the way) and they heard me. and my ears hurt, so thats a good sign. blue lights are mint, i put a switch on em at the back too. good job.

i coudlnt figure out why it wasnt doing anything at first. i hooked up power and ground backwards because i cant see the writing anymore and i thought i cooked the amp and then i thought about crying and then i remembered i turned down all the bass stuff...that made a bit of a difference :D

ill be able to find you a bunch of other good amps for a decent price though.

you can usually get a solid 2500 watts for around $5-800 cdn if you know where to look

i just installed my 300 amp alternator and it didnt charge at all and started smoking like a bastard. So as i was writing an email to the owner of the company i decided to go back out and check my connections one last time. Turned it on and it smoked as usual and wouldnt charge....then about 10 seconds later no smoke and lots of charge. HAPPY TIMES. I guess it just needed to burn all the shit out of the contacts inside.

Adjustable regulator works too...i had it charging at 16.8 volts for a short time. 12 volt battery probably doesnt like that too much

this is out of control...spent 12 hours on it yesterday and so far 5 1/2 today with not much to show for it. im hoping it starts coming together pretty quick tonight so that tomorrow i dont have to rush everything. I will have to solder like 30 1/0 lugs tomorrow though...thats always fun. Especially when you need to use a blow torch and they're all inside you truck already. fawwk

yup...i build boxes inside for the most part...have to carpet them outside though due to a lack of space. I have so much shit in my garage its not even funny.

On a side note ive got the 4 channel in and my speakers are playing. They sound absolutely amazing.

i decided to say fuck it to all the soldering and just ran 4 of my runs of 1/0 into 2 amps with 1 battery under the hood. Amps are strapped at 1 ohm so 0.5 ohm each for daily driving...should be some pretty massive voltage drop.

Ive got about 5 hours more work and it should be making noise.
