hey i need to fit a bigger air filter under my stock hood cause mines like a damn frizby anyone know if it matters if i cut out the middle part under the hood so i can atleast get a 2 inch filter under there

well if yours is a Z28, thats what i did, i cut a square out underneath the scoop so i could fit another inch in ;D

ok cool i was thinkin of doin it i just didnt know if it was goin to weakin the hood in any ways

just make sure you dont go too wide, i went like 12" x 12" or something in that area, you dont want to cut into the under bracing. so maximize the hole you can fit in that area :)
Had the same issue with my 70' I really didn't want to cut the hood so I got a deeper, lower pan to hold the 2"
filter. Had to bend and cut the bottom to make room for the choke and fuel line but all looks good when together.

ya i was running the low pro bottom too, plus i had to cut hehe. thats cuz i was running a 1" spacer on my rpm manifold though ;D

ya i put the low pro bottom on it but the throttle got stuck all the time and shit so i took it off

i took a ball peen hammer and heated it up with a torch, pounded out a big dent to clear the linkage on my holley double pumper. worked mint after that :P
