V6 Block Part Numbers

Does anyone know what the GM part numbers are for the V6 blocks? I'm having troubles determining if I have 1st or 2nd gen blocks?

hardy har. Is there a master catalog somewhere that will tell what GM parts are what? Or do I have to go the dealer to get that kind of information? Any kind of online GM search engine that you know about?
