undo one motor mount jack up motor install header. then repeat on other side. i only had to jack up the pass side for mine drivers slid in no prob

When I installed headers on my old Dodge 4x4, I had to remove the starter, remove the oil filter, unbolt the drivers side motor mount, and lift the motor on the drivers side. Point being, headers are a fucking bitch to install no matter what the vehicle.

not true. on my 79 gmc with 454 they slid right in with starter installed and spark plugs in and the drive shaft. i was shocked because when it had a sbc i had to remove the starter.plus on big block you can get at all the header bolts with socket. bbc ftw

A bigger block actually makes it easier, the biggest issue in my example was frame to head clearance. A taller block would have done wonders for that install, the pipes could bend in time to avoid everything instead of being a tight convoluted mess that has no room. It's pretty rare to wind up with an easy header install. I haven't run into one yet...installed enough headers to know how much I hate doing it though. Pontiacs can be a real pain in the ass thanks to the exit angle of the ports.

Oh yeah, kness in most cases they're a lot easier to install from underneath...rather than "dropping right in".
