It made a HUGE difference on the Panhard. Now I've got welding fever! Next will be the front A-arms, Panhard brace (why not), and then I'll make the wonder bar and the strut tower brace and th......... what else is there?

weld up a cage, then weld up some subframe connectors, and weld up some custom exhaust. theres plenty to do ;D

Right on! I'll get a list going ;D How hard is exhuast to weld? I was using a Mig to do what I did with some 14awg steel. It would be way fun to do a custom Y-pipe for my V6. What about headers? Same thing, just more time? I was more than amazed at how cheap all this metal is!

headers i wouldnt recconmend doing. there is lots of science in getting them to work properly. unless you have something you can copy exactly. the tuning of the lenghts pressure waves and sound waves etc. crossover pulses too. it never ends. pretty complicated, could end up making some that make no power increase :-\

I've been reading up on induction systems for a little bit. Before I do exhuast I need to get my dual throttle body tuned intake done ;D Tons to be done. Headers for the V6's are over 300US and hard to find. I just wanted to do some long runner something to get better flow than the stock crap-a-fold.

Do you think that 14awg would be good to make subframes with?

id have to say yes, just make sure its braced properly then :)

1/4" that bitch ;D

oh good god man! 1/4" would be fricken burly! But totally doable. How long are the subframe connectors? Cuz if I can find some channel long enough I just might do it.

You could always try porting your "stock crap-a-folds."

Ya, I know. I've got a bunch of "extra" manifolds laying around. I need to get a die grinder so i can commence with the grindage!

Just got into the Grinder myself ... gonna have to weld and see which is best, good luck on your projects.

Has anyone ever tried to cut the stock manifolds in half so you can grind them out good? And then weld them back together? :P

welding cast iron isn't as easy as mild steal, it has to be pre heated and is better welded with Tig then Mig
