then explain why i have a mechanical clutch bell housing from an 83 with t5
also look at lakewood scatershield for 82 83 camaro comes with dual bolt patern for t5 and t10 or muncie
i think 83 was the first year for the t5 so a mechanical clutch bellhousing will be hard to find

I CANT EXPLAIN IT... BECAUSE I KNEW BEFORE HAND THAT THE T10 ONLY CAME IN THE 1982!!!
AND THAT I DONT KNOW WHAT HAPPENED IN 83 84, TILL THE CHANGE UP IN 1985... GEEZ
thats good to hear tho, one should never assume i guess...
whats the difference between the mechancialk bellhousing from a t10 to t-5?
t-5s are tilted right t10s arnt?... im thinking if thats it ill just hook shit up using a t10 bellhousing and wry about the shifter the next day ::)

yes the t5 is tilted not sure if it would even bolt in considering the trans mount would change as well plus the shifter would be cranked over
Daniel Doerksen

uhm hmm... the trans mount wouldnt be a prblem for me... the shifter would be a little more difficult to get it to articulate nicely through gears

if your converting and need a bell housing i do have a lakewood scatershield
might be better to go hydrolic clutch though

automan
06-13-2007, 06:33 AM
ya its for linkage style clutch
it has dual pattern so it fits t5 and muncie
if you want it you can have it for $100,,cost me $450 a few years back

Daniel Doerksen
06-13-2007, 08:09 PM
t-5 or wct-5... i need wc, because its needs to be able to support 300ish hp
automan
06-13-2007, 11:11 PM
ya i know what you mean ,i would'nt mind a wct5 myself i currently run a nonwc behind a 327
but if your interseted you could have the t5 with stock shifter and scatershiled for $250
Daniel Doerksen

pretty sure the nonwct-5 for the v8 is the same t-5 for the v6

Daniel Doerksen

t5-v6 and t5-v8 are two different tranny's. i dont see why you wouldnt want a hydroulic clutch... you never have to adjust it and its smoother under your foot. if your worried about the install i can help. im in the middle of my second auto to t5 swapp.

i wouldve done the hydro clutch swap, but i forgot to take out the complete assembly before i sent my parts car off, seems easyier because the mech. is already in the car

seems easier to contuni=ually adjust it and watch it wear out faster and have a more difficult replacement job? or to just dcut one hole this time and never worry again?

well you mechanical isnt worse if you know what your doing, only reason i would do it is for a shorter throw... if i come across pedals for cheap id be more inclined
