LB9 and LO3?

I was told the motor was swapped but i can't tell if it is an LB9 or an LO3 in my 91 camaro RS . Where is the block code because i can't find it.

well the main difference is an LB9 is TPI,
do you want to know if its a TPI block?
cause the block is the same, both 305 1 peice rear main 2 bolt main,
both 9.3:1 compression,

the heads are different if I remember right,

and the intake is a dead give away

well if they kept the intake the same which i figure they would it should be a LO3 but i wanted to make sure. Is there any problem just putting a TPI system on that motor? I have an 86 TPI system?

the 86 chip is a POS as well,
but it would be an upgrade for sure,

I can say for sure year to year its plug and play,

88 TPI into 88 TBI

but 86 into a 91 will probably have some wiring issues to sort out,

no 305's ever had a 4 bolt main from the factory, i dont think any 3rd gens ever had a factory 4 bolt engine, hell if players cars that were raced with ballanced 305's were 2 bolts why would anything else ever run a 4 bolt?

4 bolt blocks were generaly used in trucks for the simple fact that they pull loads and use lots of bottom end.
