The annual Pacific NW Historics at Pacific Raceways (formerly SIR) are featuring the return of the original Trans-Am cars from 66-72 (the ones I used to race against).
There are usually some ex Penske/Donohue camaros racing along with the Mustangs etc. There will also be some kind of 40th anniversary for camaro celebration - not sure what that is about. If you sign up early they have a camaro car corral and in past years you got to drive around the track with your group.
The honoured racing guest of the weekend is Parnelli Jones, an American racing legend who raced in the Trans-Am in those early years.
Thre are some 250-300 vintage race cars usually competing at this event, including lots of "big bore" machinery.
I will be going down with a group early Sunday. It's a great event.
