so i have most of my wires done, but i was wondering if theres a good spot to put the ground, some place that already has a hole or bolt i could use.was going to grnd on the hump or under back seat.
is there a better spot under the black trim some where(dont want to take apart if i dont have to)

this it so far, still have to run rear speakers(ran out of wire)
whats the longest screw i can use on the hump?

i dont recommend screwing into the hump. take off the spare tire panel on the right. ditch the spare tire. now cut a piece of MDF to fit in there, mount your amp(s) to it and screw it to the bracket your tire was on. there is also plenty of metal in there to ground to.

something like this

wouldn't recomend that for hot running amplifiers

i've had that problem myself

you could always make an amp rack inside your back seat? :sanchez:

well those amps were fine in there...blew once they got in my blazer though. theres drain holes and shit, plus that space is vented. depends what kind of power hes got. either way its better than mounting on the back deck where every crackhead can see it

i had no indication that he was mounting it there? he was asking about a ground. I guess you could assume?

he asked how long a screw he can use on the hump and the wires are there, i assumed.

i was thinking of mounting both amps and cross over on the hump.the rca and speaker wires arent long enough to reach the spare wheel now and I dont really want to do it over.
I should have asked before running the wires.
but i can mount on the hump can't I? got the idea from other set ups that ihave seen pics of.

ya you can
just like what jesse said, people can obviously see them. if u can make a nice cover for them to make it look presentable, it would look nice. and if you have tinted windows thats always a plus, just check whats under neith before screwing!!!!!

gas tank...i would really suggest that you avoid the area.

but yes tint the back window. i had 5% on my red car and even with your face up against the glass couldnt tell there was subs inside.

just put some wood iunder your carpet and screw to that

then you going ot have a bulge under your carpet

although you may like buldges I'd suggest drilling a hole on the hump from the underside as a guide with the capret removed at first. then mount your amp to avoid gas tank, if u can (I haven't looked in that area)

if not do what jesse sugested, get new wires if u can, that or u can get an RCA double female end (run another set of RCA's althought you may sacrifice sound quality, and i'd suggest make sure that they are isolated terminals so they dont ground out or get any distortion from touching metal

thats not a bad idea, glue down some mdf then mount to that.
dont think it will be that noticeable under the carpet.

going get tinted this week.
dont want to use RCA double female end,i used the 12ft ones to keep the runs short and not going to buy more.

if you can go back; attach a piece of mdf to the top of your box (if it's glush with the hump) and then glass over top of it.
