can you tell what your compression ratio is by your cranking compression (psi)?

no, to find the true compression ratio you need to take all the measurements and info, and mathematically figure the answer. psi cranking readings are just a ballpark figure and dont give you a accurate answer. bassically you can tell if its 11:1 or 9:1 stuff like that. :) but all that is just static compression, you need to figure out dynamic compression 8)

if you know how many CC your heads, valve reliefs and head gaskets are ;)

pontiac 400 bored .060 over
bore= 4.181
gasket= .040
cc=92
-6cc for reliefs

whats the stroke? is it flat top pistons? whats the bore of the gasket. plus this is all static compression stuff. dynamic compression is the real deal, pump gas can run about 8.4 DC camspec has a huge role in how the motor compression acts :)
