8.5 10 bolt is very good rearend, i got that. the only way to go, almost as strong as a 12 bolt and is very similar to a ford 8.8........just make sure its got good bearings in it, and the clutch packs are good, and it will take you into the 11's. i ran 12's in my heavy ass camaro and did countless races, burnouts, and my 60' were about 1.78 which is pretty hardcore. and its stock accept gears. mines good for about a mid 11 sec pass. but i need to axle, spool and diff cover it soon. then it will be good for 10's all day long 8)

Weld the axle tubes, solid pinion spacer, good gears that aren't too hard or brittle(Richmonds are perfect), and a alum cover with a cap girdle and I say 10s for a long time...on an auto anyways. In fact there's some dudes on another board running nines with NONE of those mods...didn't say how long though ;)
