None of the above! GT Class Road Racing. no HP limits, no restrictions on anything actually. I plan on 430 HP from my ZZ4 GMPP crate engine (once I finish with it). I have 95% of the pieces to finish and support it now, including 2 engines, 2 trannies, 2 rear ends, etc. Target is August 13th practice day at Rivers Edge Racetrack. I still need a 10 lb fire system and a few small bits, and more spare time...
This is my previous car...

Considering I had to use a 94 truck 350 engine (my spare)instead of my 430 HP ZZ4, I was happy to place 13th out of 29 in my group. My best laps were 1:23's while the 6 cars or so ahead of me were doing laps in 1:21's. I was happy to have the car just stay together and not loose a major chunk while I was doing 100 mph...Next time with my locked 3.73's and a real engine I will have no problems getting 1:21's or better.

Go to www.sccbc.net (http://www.sccbc.net) and look at the Driver Training section. I believe the next school session will be in mid-March. It's about $400.00, has a tech for your car and gear, a classroom session and then two days of track sessions at Mission. You can use any car that has good brakes, no leaks, a manual tranny, everything tight, with good belts and seat. You'll need an approved Snell 2000(A) car racing helmet (not a M/C type), leather gloves and shoes...that's about it. It's oversubscribed within a few days of posting the application info so don't waste any time signing up. If you successfully pass the written test, you go onto the track with an 'old hand' and he/she keeps you out of trouble for a while. By the last session on the Sunday, you do your first race. If you don't screw up, you'll get the cert that lets you enter road races as a novice. A least three novice races, and if you don't screw up, you get a regional licence to enter races with the big boys! You will need a properly prepped race car for all the races though. Maybe we should talk?

Not unless you change to a manula tranny in those cars. No automatics allowed except for certified handicapped drivers ;)

well id take my 79 any day but you said it had to be 5 speed, so a th400 with a full manual shift doesnt cut it? lol or a spooled rearend, id still do it, slow around the corners but id own the straights lol
so thats why id have to use the stang :-\

Why not come to the next (last) race of the season at MRP on the Oct. 16/17 weekend? We can talk about this and you two can see what's going on in the RR world! And by the way, my TA has a welded rear diff. which really does work very well even in the wet ;D

Just check out the post above, all the info is on the link to the Sports Car Club of BC website. I'll make time to talk to anyone who shows up at MRP on the weekend of Oct. 16/17 (as long as my car isn't giving me problems!). Look for me in pit #101 (rear row far end from the entrance). Hope to see more F bod people out there! Cheer for me when I pass the Fords... 8)

Great new Mustang dyno in Haney. Haney Automotive Performance just behind the Red Robin. All the bells and whistles, great for perf. tuning. Charged me $75.00 for the session.

Due to a complete failure of my 'real' race engine thanks to a company/person that can't be trusted to tell the truth, I have had to resort to my back-up plan for the race this weekend: a 94 GMC 4X4 block with 300,000km on it! I was worried it would expire if my timing and carb wasn't set up correctly. I pulled 302 lb.ft. @ 4400 RPM, and when I shut it down at 5400 RPM it was just starting to really pull at 300RWHP. I guessed right on the carb jetting: 13.5 - 13.7 AFR throughout the power range. I wasn't really interested in getting max power, given the old heavy pistons/rods and iron crank. I'll use it up at the track near the end of my last race on Sunday...I may have to pay the $50 oil spill fine though...
