Can anyone tell me why? i have the kickdown cable adjusted fully on the carb so that it pulls the cable to the max but it wont kick down. Is my cable screwed or could it be something inside the tranny?

check your vacume modulator at the back of the tranny, make sure its hooked up and getting vaccume. and check the kickdown where it goes into the tranny, it might be disconnected inside the tranny :)

yeah the vacum line is hooked up at the modulater, i checked that today and also the kickdown cable IS attached to where its supposed to be at the tranny, thats why im baffled. Is there something inside the tranny where the cable hooks up to that could have come off or something?

the modulator could be screwed, if the kickdown is detached inside it means its gonna be a bitch, pan has to come off.............

i can deal with pulling the pan off, i'd rather do that than pulling the tranny out! is there much involved in fixing this if that is what came off inside the tranny?

not that hard, but its a spring rod that attaches to the cable that goes to the carb, take the 1 bolt out that holds it intot he tranny, check to see if theres a springy little rod with an s bend on the end of it that goes through the little hole on the end. or the modulator, they are cheap to replace
