i've been wanting to get this for some time now and i dont know if i really like the tips...but i could live with them

is there a big difference from all that piping that you get with the full exhaust system or will i get the same difference with just purchasing the muffler on its own?

im looking at the mangaflow wide-open exhaust...the same one GregZ28 has installed ;)

The whole cat back setup is better as it has larger diameter piping. But just how much better is up for debate. If your really after performace you'd want to change up the cat and the y-pipe too, otherwise you may just want to change the muffler if all your after is a better sound.

You could always get a 40 series Flowmaster muffler and put on your own tips.

i wanna just throw on the muffler but then i dont wanna be a cheap ass...even though i dont really like the tips...but then again i could grow used to them

anyone know where i can get the full exhaust for cheap?

magnaflow wide-open for a 97 LT1

the reason im being a cheap ass is im only 17 with a car that takes about 50 bucks of gas every 8-9 days and all i got is a part time job! lol

AND im spoiled...my parents pay for insurance...if they didn't i'd barely have a penny saved at the end of the month ahha

here your not gonna beat this price for a brand new magnaflow:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=7907126936&category=33630

comes with a free 3 inch cat that you can have rigged up as a ORP. get either a borla or slp y pipe if your using stock manifolds. the y pipe on these cars are the most restrictive part of the exhaust.
