I'm no tranny expert myself by to my knoledge the 700R4 is a weak tranny if you wanna put some power through it and the build up to make them strong is quite extensive! I've got one here that the shop will gaurantee up to 800hp (i know its a bit excessive seeing as i'm at about half of that with my 383)
The build up was done at Bob's Driveline in Aldergrove and I would recomend them to ANYBODY looking for a strong build up at a reasonable price. the # is 604-856-8816

Call up Larry @ Nevco Transmissions in burnaby 604-437-5566
he rebuilt the tranny in my gfs 1992 caprice, he did the 200-4R in my 87 SS. he's a great guy who gave me credit the first time I met him. He let me pay over 2 pay periods which is awesome! He's a great guy, tells the truth about what you need, doesnt overcharge, doesnt bullshit you with reasons why the work isnt done, etc
The work is always done on time with him and the price doesnt jump midway through the build.
