hey so heres a question for you guys
pacesetter long tubes and eibach pro kit
good idea?
they drop the car 1.3"...think that might even be too low, not like i scrape alot now, but that might be too much...heard that the 1" hotchkis ones would be suitable
any input would be great..thanks

Jessev

CamaroGirl
12-06-2008, 03:37 PM

my dad's trans am was prokit springs and pacesetter LT headers

it did have some trouble with speed bumps, with the longtubes.. they end up being really low.. you just gotta be more careful

i personally think 1" drop is as much as you should do, the roads here are terrible sometimes

also the eibachs are a bit too stiff, imo. i never really liked the ride quality with them for daily driving.

my car is way lower(sportlines)
sometimes I scrape on the crown in the road with 2 people in the car,

take a pic of how low the headers hang

i have a pic, i'll get to it when i get home tonight

i still want practicality along with performance though, so 1" would probably be the lowest i should get.
i just dont like that big gap between the rubber and the r quarter...i also might be getting some 17x9 02 ss rims for it too-know that'll look hot

on a side note them make a nice set of stainless steel long tubes for 3rd gens now that have tones of ground clearance. i think i will be getting my car going with whats there then switching to these some time

thats the best you can do ?

well considering how my cost is 323, and i just got it down to 300 without needing a managers password, i could probably do better
little known fact
lordco will do price matching
so
if you go to mopac and find it cheaper which you most likely will
get the price, go to lordco, pick it up there
or
buy it from mopac
you probably will anyways b/c lordco doesnt have any of these in stock
so it kinda makes this post useless now doesnt it

Dunout
12-06-2008, 05:00 PM
sure dose and the place i go too was going to sell me them for $270.00

thanks for looking tho.

Just take the springs out, you don't need those anyways, all they do is get in the way of EXTREME HANDLING

yeah that's about what i remember..

depends how bad the roads are where you're planning to drive i guess, but i wouldn't go more than an inch drop

89vert
12-07-2008, 12:39 PM
that ain't that low,

not sure what kind of roads where you live,
but prokit shouldn't be that bad,

my car and and my bros car is way lower,

my dads 4th gen can't even make it on the dyno at air care,

you got to becareful driving around, but its doable

you know.. there's another solution to save you busting your exhaust.. put subframe connectors on it that hang just slightly lower than the exhaust does..

protects the exhaust and all the weak sheet metal underneath the doors and stuff against most things you'd run into (except big fucking rocks on the malahat)

that's how my third gen was, and i nailed the sfcs a few times going into underground parking lots too quickly... if the sfcs weren't there, probably would have busted lots of things

my sub frame connectors rub all the time,

but near the back of the car

makes sense, however alot of the sfcs made are made so you lose no clearance at all..i think i found one company who made slightly lower ones but i cant think of them right now

i have sportlines on my car and with the stock exhaust it likes to scrape on most speedbumps but never had it scrape on a road yet.but anyways mopac had the springs for $269 back in september
