hood, interior, spare tire/jack, carpet, back seats, insulator under the carpet, theres about 40lbs of it under there lol aluminum intake, all the emissions stuff, drill holes in front and rear rebar bumper, aluminum heads, aluminum water pump, smaller starter, aluminum wheels. thats about it realy, without getting hardcore

with drilling the holes in the rebar bumpers, is that goin to weaken them at all? thats a pretty damn good idea to never thought of that one

if you would like to hear yourself think in your car, then keep the insulation. I'm putting mine back in, going deaf.

also headers and Lexan for all the glass.

second gens can get glass trunk lids, and maybe a glass spoiler instead of metal?

light weight aluminum wheels, 4wheel disc brakes, aluminum girdle on rear end. drop sway bars, if you don't plan on turning.

switch from auto tranny to 4 spd, unless this is specific drag then auto, for more consistancy, but go T350 instead of T400 for less weight there.

ditch any stereo equipment.

gut all your power options, and antenna

that's all I can think of to add for now

all the spoilers on the car are already not metal, front ones if its a Z28 are urethane otherwise its obviously not there :P, and the rear one is fiberglass. the single most important one, that will make the biggest difference, is a fiberglass hood, 80 lbs lighter on my car, and aluminum cyl heads will do another 60lbs easy.

oh and the antenna is in the windshield, the little black line, dont want to ditch that, need the windshield lol :P

yea, but i wouldnt recomend it unless your going hardcore race, lexan doesnt last in wheather and with wipers etc. only for dry wheather not worth the 10 lbs really, plus you will need the big support bar down the center cuz lexan is alot flexier. it will look like a redneck nascar unless its totally done out. when mines done it still wont deserve lexan :P 10.50's or faster is required lol

Dont get me wrong, i love the way my car sounds, but when i get stuck in trafiic or some shit like that it starts to get to ya. Moral of story, love it 85% of the time ,other 15% wish i had any insulation.

i think i saw this in my buddies 79 trans am owners manual. in section about fuel economy... if says how heavy loads can effect accelration and fuel economy. Dont let any larger women into your car. Bad fuel economy and bad speed. hehe...

Haha yeah I thought about saying it too but it would come out much harsher and much more insulting from me. I decided to let tact prevail. At any rate, it's not hard to lose weight off a car so long as you don't mind cutting and grinding. Fiberglass is good shit, gut all the useless daily driver stuff, it's easy. Losing Berkinmoobs, on the other hand...
