my winter beater, due for retirement in a few months

so far $0 except for insurance, i run it on rancid boat gas with a bit of injector cleaner to keep it from clogging up

haven't lost a race yet, and so far no vehicle inspections even though the cops stare at me

so here's the mods

ghetto tachometer, from a boat.. attached with 'gorilla glue' and electrical tape

http://resfilter.net/files/etc/corsica/DSCN1352.jpg

ghetto stereo, attached with zapstraps and electrical tape

http://resfilter.net/files/etc/corsica/DSCN1353.jpg

ghetto short ram intake. leftover k&n and an exhaust bellows from a boat for an intake elbow

http://resfilter.net/files/etc/corsica/DSCN1354.jpg

ghetto power steering cap retainer. it broke when it smashed into the hood when i did a brakestand (the engine mounts are all broken). yes, that brown stuff on the belt is power steering fluid

http://resfilter.net/files/etc/corsica/DSCN1355.jpg

ghetto square exhaust tips, leftover from an old camaro. they were a bit big, used a half a roll of duct tape and LOTS of torque, smashed the muffler up putting them on. sounds hilarious (gutted the cats too)

http://resfilter.net/files/etc/corsica/DSCN1358.jpg

ghetto parking pawl. broke the parking pawl by bumping it into park by accident when i was smashed doing burnouts in reverse

http://resfilter.net/files/etc/corsica/DSCN1360.jpg

i miss my camaro a lot

haha yea.. i had to take the wheel off to unstick a brake caliper, and i couldn't find a place to jack it from that didn't look like it would bust apart.. so i strung up the whole fucking car by the roof on our boat lift at work

it didnt seem to affect anything at the time, but i think that might be one reason the windshield is falling apart, and the doors just don't close right anymore

then i went to drill a drain hole for all the rancid water that keeps pooling up in the floor pans, and the drill went right through before i got a chance to hit the trigger

Haha that reminds of that Cavalier I had, I came out one day and the drivers side had 2" of water in it, I couldn't drive it without getting soaked and I had no power tools so I took a 3" nail and hammered it through the floor in a few places. Ah beaters

now it's parked, but i'm suprised it made it through the winter

i did a few sustained 6000rpm runs against some kids with hondas and it's making a funny clicky wrist pin noise, but i think it'll last next winter too

best $0 i ever spent, i swear

at the very least it kept the road salt and shit off the camaro

How much truth to it's kill list? lol

nobody knew they were racing. lol

steveo

nobody knew they were racing. lol

they're serious kills.. they watched in disbelief as this weight stripped noisy little peice of shit took them out to 150kph (that's as fast as i'll go in this car, the suspension is fucked)

the mitsubishi should have killed me, i've since driven it and it's quick.. he said he missed a gear, still very embarrasing.. but it is a vert, and they're 4200 pounds i hear

the foxbodies i beat them both by at least a car length, it was from a roll..

and they were pushing it.. although to be honest, they both looked like beaters too, and they might have been afraid to throw a rod or something, whereas i had that thing shifting at redline

the truck was my dad's... empty load too.. that one was funny.. i think he might need a tuneup

03-05-2009, 05:25 PM
ever since i got this peice of junk i've tried to get some people together for a beater meet on the island

could do rollover competitons and hit to pass deathmatches in parking lots

also could do a burnout contest front bumper to front bumper, see who gets pushed back

90_383
03-05-2009, 05:27 PM
i like the hit to pass idea

86 red dragon
03-05-2009, 05:34 PM
hit to pass and front bumper thing, its like tug of war but a pushing war. we gotta do a beater meet!

90_383
03-05-2009, 05:46 PM
