So last night it looks like i dribbled a bit of brake fluid onto my drivers side fender, and it removed some of my flames (two lines in them now). There pretty shottily done, looks like somebody spray bombed them on there. The cars orange paint is clear coated, and the flames are done over top of that. How can i remove the flames without brake cleaner, whilst preserving the orange  thanks, would pay someone to help me

how many coats of clear are on it
sand the flames really lightly with like 600 grit paper and make sure you dont burn through the clear and then power polish...might look alright but your far better to do a re spray

if it's not an original color you'll need a parts place with one of those paint matching cameras...to my knowledge lordco doesnt have one...at least my store doesnt...

lordco for paint..worst idea EVER even with a stock color your red will most likely turn out pink lol
best chance is like brenda said and go to a paint supply place with a camera.most shops charge nothing if you go there but theres a fee if they have to drive to you

Could always try soaking a rag with paint thinner and seeing if you can just wipe the flames off...

Stepdad touched them up for me. For the time being they look fine, or as fine as they're gonna get. I may try and clear coat them they would look so much better. Not sure if im willing to commit to the costs of a full paint job however

dude heres the plan
park your car. key it hella bad. go to ICBC pay your 300 deductible and then a shop will paint your car and it will look great..hell you might even get more money cuz it has the flames,

If the flames were painted on over the clearcoat it shouldn't be difficult at all to remove them without requiring a fresh paint job. At worst you'd need to do a cut and buff after.

depending how long they have been on the paint on the car may of faded and when you remove them its brighter underneath.

How do you think i should go about removing them though ? Clay bar ? Cut wax ? I just dont want to fuck the paint underneath. Im gonna try and remove them fender by fender, and if all goes to hell, i'll just respray the front clip. Anyone with experience with this kinda stuff ? Id be more then willing to throw you some money to help me out ..

dude sand with 600 and then power polish it lol
but if the guy who painted your car only put one coat of clear on your pretty much fucked.
you could also wet sand the whole car and then poilsh it, that way the faded paint isnt an issue
