Ford transmission in my car.. wtf

So i just remembered that a while ago, like.. 2 winters ago, i was under my car and was looking at my tranny, i got the numbers off of it and looked it up on some website, cant remember which, and i was told its a transmission out of a mustang... or a ford of some kind.. is this even possible..?

Is it a 5 speed? then it could be a T-5. The Mustang and F-body T-5 share the same casing, but the bellhousing, tailshaft and first gear are different....

it just seems that way cause mustangs have no power, and they can't break them, my tranny on the other hand makes funny noises in first and second gear, must be the HUGE hp my cars makes 8)

my cars got way more power than a 11 sec. mustangs ;D 8),
thats why my tranny is going

so it isnt physically out of a mustang.. they just have the same numbers? and yes its a T-5

yes the company that makes the t-5 sold it to ford and GM

just like the t-56 is used in a F-body, viper and vette, the vette tranny is mounted at the rear of the car but it still uses the same case

maybe all those times I was rolling backwards very fast put into first and dropped the clutch is why my tranny is going
