I have manual brakes on a 3300lbs car with 600lbs of big-block over the front wheels. I have never even noticed a problem, totally fine.

ABS is for people who dont understand how driving/braking works.

I chose manual brakes for my car. With the correct master cylinder, pedal ratio, proportioning valve, they work just as well as power brakes. It's just harder to push the pedal. Thats it. For certain applications it's the best choice. I like it for racing use, plus there is no need for vaccuum (good if you are boosted, or have a lumpy cam)
