2nd gens are so good, they dont need to be modded ;) ;D stock springs, competition engineering drag shocks up front, stock shocks in rear, stock sway bars, lakewood traction bars, weld in subframes. thats about it. last year perfect launches, no hop, 1.78 60' last year. (before good shocks in front) so basically stock with t bars ;D

lcas?
TA?
relocation brakets change where the control arm mounts, right?

93formula

yes the relocation brackets change the angle and helps plant the tires better.

LCAs=lower control arm
TA= torque arm

yeah for stiffness they do, but i HATE how they look under the car, just hideous :-X on any car.... the only things that leafs look good on are lifted 4x4's

no way man, you need to see a proper set up one with ladder bars etc. the ones that are ugly ar ethose worn out camaros with a 5" shackle kit on the back to get stock ride height back cuz the spring is so sagged. id have to say the only other thing that looks better is a coilover 4 link setup, but no other stock suspension setups look any good, you cant see any of it anyhow, p.s. leafs own ;D 8)

once again,ur opinion vs. mine... but ur prolly right though, my opinion is prolly affected by all those res.rocket camaros with the slapped together spring set ups so the ass end doens't drag.. but still..... i love coils!

yup nothing wrong with coils, plus it helps if you already have them, pretty hard to swap from coil to leaf, which is unheard of cuz the frame and structure is totally different :)

EXACTLY! plus, i would love to point and laugh at someone that trys to put leafs into a uni-body car ;D

Roy go to Global West's site and they have EVERYTHING needed to make a second gen handle. I'm changing my 81 into a protouring/corner burner soon and they are the way to go-IMO.

Better hurry before I put them in the 81 because I might like them once I put them in.

stiffer leafs in the back, maybe with a small drop to lower center of gravity. good shocks all around, subframes for sure, new lower coils in the front, and the most important is refresh all the important bushings. that will make a world of difference. sway bar already owns at a 1-1/8". not much to do really for stage I handling. but it will rip!

oh forgot to mention some big rims and some nice tires ;D

93formula

can it be made to handle like a 4th gen?

yes, these cars are perfect for handling, just depends on how hardcore you want to go. stock Z28 suspension when i had it. could keep up with lots of things in the corners, it was a very neutral setup. it only gets better from there. the key is to have it not worn out, like good bushings, mounts etc.

Let me see "STOCK" yup, oh and wearing shocks.

all poly on sways and tranny mount.

still very tight in the sterring department so thats good.

no one mentioned a Panhard, those also help with wheel hop.
