So I'm really considering an LS1 swap in my '88. But I want to know if my T5 will bolt up to it. Also the motor I'm lookin at comes with a 4l60e, will that bolt up to a 3rd gen without modification?
And yes, I realize that if the T5 does bolt up to an LS1 that it prbly wont last long.

Theres no point of running a t-5, a t56 is like 1000 bucks, the adapter for t5 would be hard to find but..
put it this way my BONE stock, TBI (NOT TPI) 305 with 220lbft or so blew up my t5 so an ls1 would kill it in a week...and seeing how you do burnouts, YOU NEED A STRONG TRANSMISSION :rofl:
And either tranny will need a new xmember but its a good time to go tunnel mounted or xmember mounted torque arm

I already have spohn adjustable cross member mounted tourque arm. Along with a spohn cross member. part of the reason i want to stay with my T5. Where are you finding a T56 for $1000?

Not likely you will find an LS1 T56 for $1k... They are different than the LT1 style ones, and seem to sell for more than those.
