well as soon as my brand new engine/tranny/exhaust are in, and as soon as the interior project is finished, imma need some tunes.
So, im gonna order this:
2 sets of alpine spx-177r (type-x 6.5inch 2way components)
and
alpine mrv-f540 (4 channel digital amp)
one set of the 6.5's will be installed in kick pods, and the other will mount in plates where the 6x9's usually go.. might even glass behind them. duno yet.
the amp puts out 70w per channel at 12v
should be okay.
what do you think?

so your spending a couple bucks on your components,
should sound really good and clean
if your gonna drop that kind of cash I'd take the time to glass every thing in all pro like and shit

rather than running two seperate component sets i would reccomend only running one in kick pods in the front. That way you wont mess up your soundstage and ruin all imaging.
with running only one set you can also bridge your amp so it puts out more/cleaner power. most big SQ guys will only run front speakers and will actually try to fabricate their sub enclosure in front of the front seats so that all of the sound stage is being reproduced in front of them

i heard what you said when i went through mecp training. but since that time... i've come to a realization.
as far as im concerned, those guys were wrong.
i stepped back and took a look at what i was taught:
sound staging / imaging : crock-a-shit selling tool
dont run rear speakers : shutup, i like rear speakers
subs in the front : well okay - but i like 12s and drive a t/a.
now i don't want you to take offense by that, boomin boy... because yes, i realize, i'm the one who is wrong. but i'm the one that matters in my car, and i'm not out to impress anyone.
i tell people that i have a panasonic head unit and they tell me that it should be the first thing to go. my deck is fine, and it sounds great. so pooh on them.
(unless anyone has a 9815 they wanna sell me - that deck is sex)

I have to agree
when it comes right down to it your in your car listening to music, not at home, how perfect do you want it to sound as far as imaging
I like my rear speakers as well and I'm gonna run them
subs in the front, not relly a option in most cars :-\

ya different people have difference preferences with their sound....i prefer rear speakers only in most applications ive heard and ive yet to come across one that has all speakers in front of the driver so i cant really have an opinion on that other than what ive read and been told
