1986 Custom Mazda RX-7

alright im putting this car back up for possible sale once again only because i am pretty much looking for a car that i can mod more in speed without doing a whole engine swap etc... i have been looking at throwing a ford 302 and other engines along the lines of this because i want something i can have fun with n use more of my knowledge towards. heres the info on the car:

1986 Mazda RX-7 GX

-compression numbers: front 140, 138, 145 rear: 145, 138, 145 (3 seperate tests) (done by mark at rotary motorsports) these are really really high numbers if you ask anyone. the engine that was put in has about 35,000km on it as of right now. while the chassis of the car is at 211,000km
-rebuilt tranny and replaced clutch in october
-recently passed full bc vehicle inspection(sticker and papers to prove it)
-car passed aircare in october with flying colors with no catalytic converter and no tuning!! very unexpected
-power side mirrors
-power sunroof
-5 speed
-k&n air intake
-pacesetter headers
-HKS hyper exhaust
-turbo brake upgrade
-5 bolt hub conversion
-aluminum hood
-headlight intake duct
-border type 2 front ground effects
-18" enkei zoku rims w Yokohama AVS Sport tires 225/40/18 mint rubber with lots of tread ( w reciepts, still have old rims on tires if would like to make deal without the rims)
-eibach lowering springs
-tokico adjustable lowering struts
-black cherry paint (red to purple to black)
-tinted rear window
-4" jbl gto speakers
-jvc cd/mp3 input player
-kenwood 200 watt amp
-10" wildcat sub in dual ported box
-recent work includes alternator, starter, battery, compustar(knockoff) pager alarm, sideskirts

theres so much in reciepts its crazy. engine/clutch/brakes everything. within the last year or two its got all brakes done including calipers, swapped rebuilt engine, swapped tranny. + lots of other work. 10k+ worth of reciepts most within the last 3 years.

new alternator and battery as of month ago + spark plugs and oil change

new starter and compustar knockoff alarm as of 2 weeks ago

car is very well maintained, i am an apprentice mechanic and take care of it as much as i can. i always let it warm up and try to keep the engine as cool as possible by keeping the heat on full blast at all time that i can. plus i have the temperature fan that i am going to wire up to make it even cooler for less stress on the rotary engine for longer life. the apex seals have been tested and there were no bubbles so this rx-7 easily has years to go before the engine will need to be worked on. i am in no hurry to sell this car, as i drive it as my daily driver and it is nothing but reliable for me. you take care of the car, it takes care of you :)

nothing much has changed with the car, still running mint. just put on same sideskirts, replaced alternator and put in an alarm. the only reason im putting it up is because its getting very unconventional for my driving and future and would like to give it to another person to have their fun with it. new starter went in it couple weeks ago also. hmmm everything else is pretty much the same :)

wow .. $7800 for an 86 RX7 with only 200,000 clicks .. what a deal I wish i had some money, does it have an upgraded turbo with a custom non turbo hood, must be a custom front mount IC too !!

An RX7 is a good fast car but
they are brutal on gas
A 454 with 4.11's and a 3000 stall converter would be better on gas

1980's rx7s fall in the same category as 80's porsches and 80's corvettes....used to look cool but now they just look 80s


and that rx7 on ebay is butt ugly...i've seen some real sweet ones but that one needs some aesthetic upgrades...nice engine though ;D

89vert the rx7 gets probably better gas milage on it then your car does unless yours is a v6. it got better then my old t/a so i dunno what your talkin about.

mr tropical u dont think 80s corvettes still look good? or the porches? i guess all those 70s and 60s car looked like ass too right lol

I think 80s vettes look like ass...even early 90s vettes dont do it for me. 70s and 60s vettes however are sweet, true muscle era vehicles...old porsches however are just old.

just because i own a mazda i cant be on this site? ok i own a chevy too? what kind of car do you have mr tropical? is that your car in your avatar because that doesnt look like a ford to me? ive been looking and i cant see anywhere where you've posted what kind of car you have. and rx8s are ugly and overrated. driven them quite a bit at work and i dont even care to drive them anymore. "imports" suck? you just another one of those wannabe car enthusiasts who doesnt care if an imports fast because its just an "import" your sad man seriously. my car has kept up to a couple buddies 5.0's but because its an import it sucks :O lol 3 strikes against me coming to this board? i go to a bunch of messagesboards that arnt mazda/chevy. does that mean i should ONLY go to ones that do? i wanted to do the 350 swap but have been back and forth for a while and im tired of it and would rather have something new.

I just find it funny how I got $6000 for my 87 RX7 Turbo II with a bunch of REAL mods, Brand new motor with 0 clicks, rebuilt turbo, 112,000 clicks on the body and FAST 3 years ago

i dunno what to say. but this guy at my work may be buying my car for 6k without system n crap. ive seen em go for around that depending on what they are. sorry if i freaked out but i dunno what to expect. it was like my first post and people bashin me. even though i know i can get around 6-7 for the car. we'll just have to wait and see and ill update u guys with how much i get for it :P

I sold My 84 GSLSE for 1400 at least that's what ICBC gave me for it ASSHOLES It was street ported and that was about it other then the exhaust and intake! it was a really nice until theives smash your shit!
