So My T-5 behind my overly powerful LG4 has decided it is going to make some fun noises in 2nd and 3rd. So I need to know where I can get a good rebuild kit that can potential (based on driving style) last behing an LT1 for a year or so, until I can get my hands on something (T-56) better.
Also are there any kits that are stronger then others, heard stuff about a GeForce kit???
Any help is appreciated.

pre 88 T5's arent good at all verry low torque rating on them 88+ depending on the gears ratio inside is better some are good to a whoping 300 ft lbs ::).
i had mine rebuilt stock and a new output shaft installed as the old one was pitted and stuff, so far so good shifts nice runs smooth

i blew up 4 88 style T5's in my car before I built a 91 Worls Class with a Gforce kit in it. It's lasted me two years now.

Yeah the pre-88 non-World Class ones are only rated to 275lb-ft; that's the official rating from BW.
World Class ones are rated at 300lb-ft as stated above; once again from BW.

Holding them hostage :D .... it's a good old 85 T-5 and it likes to click and hum now so is there only good rebuild kits for a WC?? or 88+, cause it is a shame to throw away a good core.
Mike we can do the pics today. And what do you want for the WC T-5?

The flywheel you speak of is it for 1pc or 2pc rear seal .... also is there any difference flywheel wise between a 92 1pc and an LT1 1pc??

i have a 91 rs w/ the t-5,
last summer i removed the 305 boat anchor and replaced it with a fresh rebuilt 1974 4 bolt main 350 w/approx 400hp.
ive put about 2000kms on the trans with the new motor and the tranny is holding up fine. but u never know shew could blow :o any time. sometimes i power shift, but im usaually pretty good to it. i was told the trans wouldnt hold at all. im suprised :)..i guess its a wc t-5, i never knew there was a wc t-5 untill now!!
