A stock 1997 Z28 has an LS1 or LT1?
And how many ponies does it put out?
I'm looking at one like this, any info anyone can share on 97's would be much appreicated. Thx

LT1 and around 275 *I believe*

LT1 - 285 HP, add ~15 each for headers or catback

20% drivetran loss if and auto (A4) 15% loss if an M6

the '97 had OBD2 - so computer reprogramming is a slightly bigger PITA.

the 93-97 Z28 are all fairly similar the 97 does have have a different console and lower dash, they have traction control. otherwise the same car.

'98 and up have an LS1 engine and somewhat different body.

if your thinking of modding a lot get a 93-97 if your going to keep it stock - go 98+
