Hey, im doing a new rearend but not sure what size gears to put in... the guy at the Gm parts and service said the 410 are alot better than 373's. Other guys ive talked to say go with the 373's... which are better for playing around on the strip.

higher the better ;D if you want strip duty go 4.10, but if your concerned with street driving, then 3.73 wont me much slower, maybe a 10th or 2 max. but will be better gas and drivability.

my buddy runs 3.73 with a 700r4 and 245/50/16's not bad city driving, fairly high revs on the freeway

Arent 3.73s too much?? Ive been told in 350 TPIs with the TH700-R4 the first gear is way too short?

yea on a street tire, it will be pushing it for first. just think though it will burn out easy.

if i had an overdrive tranny i would be looking into 4.56s.
the extra gear will make a huge difference.

too bad im stuck with a th350 so 4.10s will be the highest ill go..mind you im going to run fairly small tires on it still (26X10.5 et streets)

350TPI might see better results with 3.42 and auto tranny, because of the lack of RPM the stock intake allows.

but if the intake can breath higher then 4600 rpm then 3.73's would work.

28x14.5 tire is imaginary, doesnt exist its a 32.0/14.5-15 is the smallest possible setup.

here is a 15" wide setup http://www.vancouvermustangs.com/yabbse/attachments/drag021.jpg you will need to do a full tub and shorten the rear etc to do this setup of tire, plan on spending about 5000 just for that stuff :-X and 4.30 with that tall of tire on a small block will not be enough min 4.56 will be required. oh and you'll need 14 inch wide rims for the tires also 8)

IMO stay away from a 16 inch rim, it will hinder traction on a 28" tire. how fast do you want to go? sounds like you got some big ideas brewing to be talking about tubs and frame relocations :)
