My car is having some major issues with the TPS.It's an 88 GTA with an L98.I've repaced the TPS several times and they wont hit the correct voltage and then they go faulty after a few weeks.Diagnostic checks show "low voltage to TPS" every time .Replace TPS-car runs ok for a while then gradually gets worse and then good as dead.If you have any info I would love to hear it !!

i'd say bad wiring,
make sure you have a 5 volt reference and a good ground
if you remove the harness from the computer and find out which wires are for the tps
check resistance from the harness on the ecm to the harness on the tps, it should be less than 10 ohms
also check for shorts from wire to wire
with the harness disconected from the ecm
at the tps side check resistance from a-b, a-c, b-c,
if they come up with a closed circuit or less than 100,000 ohms there is a wire to wire short
also check shorts wires to ground, chech wires a-ground, b-ground, c-ground
it would be fairly easy for me to do this but my services come at a price ;D

Check for water leaking some where and hitting the TPS. Water and TPS do not mix. I know a few guys who went to clean their engines and when the water hit the TPS, it fried shortly after.
