If you drive the car daily, the nice new paint will turn to shit in no time.

Depends on the paint. If you're using an engine enamel (high heat) it should be fine.

paint doesn't rust so that makes no sense lol. the person probobably did a half ass paint job with his silver leaving the metal exposed.

the paint that changes color is a multi hue paint, it is sometimes refered to as chamilian sp?(like the lizard).
Ya if you are painting a block make shure you clean it with a good rubbibg alcohol or solevent and dont touch it or get any water on it. Then give it several coats of paint, with about 15 min between, make shure it is in a warm enviroment. If it isnt going in a gelwash or a hottank, make shure you degrease and pressure wash before the final prep. Good luck.

not to many people know or do this ,...but the best thing u can do is primer the block. even the guys at lordco didnt even know this,,,but there is actually a high heat primer. after cleaning the block ..spray the primer..and when it comes to the actual color....the paint will go on sooo easy. i painted my big block like that ..now its red ,...and the paint shines and looks real good. i did my waterpump wit no primer...what a waste of paint,,,i had to spray like a million coats to cover the metal colour. a older man who used to build fast cars n such once told me to do this....and it works.

if u use cheap primer ,,from the heat it will bubble off.

the pick was takin a day after it got painted,..ovbiously its dirty now from being in the car ...and road dirt n shit..but when i clean it up ...the red still looks good
