They dont have the best rep for some reason, but I've seen a few cars that have had body work and paint done to them there and they didn't look all that bad. So what's the deal with these guys? Are they a good place to go if your car desperately needs new paint and you can't spend a whole lot of money, or are they no good.
It doesn't need to be a showroom paint job, just average.

Here's a pic of her, not a very good one..
New ones to come!

the daytona parked outside that maaco is the nicest i;ve ever seen ever. that maacos in the back section of those warehouses.

my dad got the malibus fender painted waaaay back in the mid 80s fixed from some maaco location. the clear started to flake off and they masked like an inch of the pin striping obn the header panel.if u tell them what u want, like tell them to mask properyly n shit, they will work around ur demand. if u go in there and just drop it off ,then u get a shitty job.

Yes that is a very nice daytona

If you go to that location, make sure you deal with Pat..extremely nice guy and very helpful, he'll try his best to help you out.

When you go to get you car painted as well, are you doing a color change?

I'd like to have her color changed to black, but it depends on what the price difference would be, might just keep her white. I imagine a completely new color would cost quite a bit more, but I don't know. If I keep her white though, she's gonna be all white. No more red pin striping, no silver ground effects. Just white. I think it would deffinetly look agreeable.

doing it white again is cheaper, they don't have to spray inners

maaco uses real cheap paint thats how come they're cheap

the color and clear on my car was more than $1000
that doesn't include primer and other materials,

maaco also dose a really shitty prep to the car

i've heard romours that your lucky if they wash it first

If you're doing a color change it will cost the same as a regular paint job if you paint the inner door jambs, rear hatch and under hood first. Also, take off al your ground effects and spoiler and give them to maaco and they will paint them seperately, then put them back on yourself. That way you wont get the old color showing through where the pieces meet to the body.

just so happens that where I work we have a paint booth and can usually paint car's for around $250 but you do your own prep.

Well its finished.. and from a distance the paint looks awesome. The problem is they didn't fix the side panel properly the first time and didn't realize until after they painted it so it had to be taken back and fixed, at my cost. We argued with the salesman for awile to no avail. There was also an air bubble on one of the stripes that we told them to fix, they said they would and after i got it back they then told us it was impossible to fix without re-painting the whole stripe.
there are a few smaller air bubbles as well, not to mention some bad taping... Overall their workmanship was pretty bad for their "supreme" job with an extra clear coat. I reccomend not going to the Burnaby location at all, ever. The Salesman was a fucking queer too.
Don't get me started on the painter talking about his 88 VW golf sleeper..... :jerk2:

maaco=BAD GUYS
so are the fuck ups on your car real noticeable or do u have to be up real close to spot them

You have to be up close to notice it, you kinda have to be looking for the imperfections too or you might not see it. At first glance the car looks pretty mint.
The pictures I took of the car look awesome. I suppose I might just be a little too picky, I really didn't spend a whole lot for the paint job. But come on, 2500$ is a nice chunk of money, even if it is cheap for a paint job it's still 2500$ and when you spend that kind of money you expect perfection. Fucking paint jobs are too expensive. Oh well, next time I'll save up like 6 grand and get a crazy ass flip flop color changing paint put on the Chevy. Have it change from black to red. Something wicked like that. Not done at Maaco obviously. That will be quite a ways in the future though. Till then I'm happy my Chevy is black, and that the rust is all gone. For how long I dont know. If it reappears anytime soon Maaco is gonna fucking die.

Did you pay $2,500.00 for a Maaco paint job? You should have known better than to go there with all the negative press. Maaco re-painted my moms car a couple of years ago, flaking is apparent in numerous places. I'd say sell your camaro now while it stills looks good. I'd never buy a used car with a new paint job, probably just gets the Maaco paint treatment to cover up the rust. They do the minimal prep work and use cheap paint, you get what you pay for. On that note I recommend Eagle Collision is Poco. They do showroom work at a great price. I needed my new front bird-plate cover painted, Boyd wanted 2 bills with tax. Eagle did it for a fraction of that cost.

J&B autobody on marine and ontario is probably the best body/paint shop in the lower mainland end of story
