How do i go about gettin codes on faulty sensors witch i beleive to be the cause of my idle problem.a friend told me tha if u have avacuum leak it could cause a idle problem if its leaking at tha EGR or if tha EGR or PCV is plugged but u'd think ma problem would be tha same all tha time but its not it idles at 1600rpm when i fire it up it gets warm n then goes does down to 900rpm n flutters up n down to 1200rpm
but sum tyms when i pull up to stop lights the idle will flare up to 2000rpm n a have to punch tha throttle down to get it down to a reasonable level it is spurratic but happens often like everyday sumtyms not but sumtyms yes.
NE SUGGESTIONS OR TIPS WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED

yeah no shit eh? nice name :gay: :sanchez: but he fixed his car... turns out he didn't have enough coolant in his radiator.. he had too much water or sumthing, and the engine wasn't warming enough, so the computer thought the engine was cold, so it would idle higher to warm it up

Could you ask him exactly what he did? cause I have a similar problem, I replaced a vacuum leak but it still has that wierd idle at times(still much better after fixing leak tho).

he is my brother... and yeah, he was just low on coolant levels, the guys at the mechanics shop put it on the diagnostic machine, and it said that the motor was running cold (which is weird cuz i would figure if he was low on coolant it would run hott, but wut do i know) so they just topped up his fluid in his radiator and now its good to go. He is going to go in and get his radiator pressure tested to make sure there isnt a small leak in it, and hopefully that will fix any problems he might be having
