most chevys run around 8 deg initial timing and 36 total advance. only more radical combos have it a bit different. so far all ive heard is its running rich? describe your run on problem?

Check your fuel bowl float level. Could be too high.

will i see when i take off the air cleaner and it will be on top?? and if it is that how do i adjust that
so it may not be the timming and the idle?? thanks ryan :hs:

Hm where do you live? Anywhere near Abby? I wouldn't mind coming by and giving you a hand, I hate explaining shit, I prefer to actually show people what I'm talking about. And it seems like you're kind of new to this, reading shit is never as good as doing it.

can also be caused by carbon build up in combustion camber

Convert to EFI
(Sorry, but the carb guys always say that when a person has a problem with EFI, so I couldn't resist).

just get a cup of gas and a window screen, take the carb off, put the mesh on the manifold, pour faster to go faster slower to slow down, piece o cake :D

What have you got for tools? This weekend would be iffy, I've got to finish a head gasket on a turbo'd Supra (argh) but if the weather is bad I'm going to leave the job for a nicer day (my genius cousin parked the car outside). That means if the weather isn't great and you have a covered area to work on this thing, I can come and give you a hand.

 What he said. Better yet would be if you let me know when you want to do it (NOT a weekday though, after work I am done!), every post I make gives you an option to PM me. There's a button somewhere under my screen name, I think.
