hey guys, in my car i have a hurst short throw shifter, and the other day i went out to buy a new shift knob, a chrome one, only i thought it was gonna be easy to push, twist, and turn my old shift knob off. After trying several times i noticed it wasnt commin off, what do i need to do? do they come off? or will i have to chop the knob right off of the shaft?

it is possible that u might need to shop it off... but highly unlikely... spray some WD-40 on it, and giv'er some elbow grease and it should come off, with my experiences, most after market knobs are threaded and should twist off rather then lift off. hope that helps :fingersx:

just turn it
righty tighty, lefty loosey :D

might have to grab it with channel locks
just wrap in a rag first so you don't wreck it

Speaking of shift knobs. I have a Hurst shifter with a "blah" 8-ball knob. I want to replace it with something else, but don't know what? What kind of knobs will fit my shifter folks?
