Thanks. This is one of 175 made in 91 with a 350CID auto. combo. There were 478 made in total with the 305CID 5speed making up the remaining 303. Im actually trying to find out what number the car is but apparently GM never recorded the cars that way ??? I know there was a red 91 z28 1LE R7U (Playes Challange) stolen quite a while back. I bought parts from the guy and I think he bought a new white 91 Z28.

Talk to MarkZZ4 on TGO, he usually knows of R7U/A4U's for sale in Canada

This guy is probably your best source.

The red Trans-Am (#78) on the right is a 1989 Players - G.M. series car 1-LE, R-7U, and it is one of two (1 of 2) cars ordered in 1989 for the Western Canadian Players Challenge series. Now that is rare. This car is owned and raced locally by a friend of mine. It is also for sale.

Don't know how old this is but is of course worth a look into.

Scroll Down to 88-89 for Camaro's and it gives you what the option of 1LE consisted of.

http://www.thirdgen.org/newdesign/tech/techdb.shtml

The only way to tell by the VIN code if it is 1LE is to go to a GM dealer and sak them for a list of RPO codes, only the RPO will tell you 1LE or not.

B4C is the same as 1LE but with A/C and some 1LE cars have been confirmed with power options.

True 1LE have no options ie(pw/pdl/pm/AC) so on but have all the performance options avail ie(dualcat/alumDS/engine oil cooler/11.86" brakes with dual piston alum calipers PBRs/alum spare tire/no fog lights/18 gallon fuel with baffles to prevent starvation in cornering with .5 gallons left.) And of course POSI and good gears (3.23/3.27 with 350 and 3.42/3.45 with 305/5speed combo ONLY) the two diff gears is the diff between Ausi rear 9bolt and GM 10bolt.

Ok enough rambling, it's all in the link and on

just use one of the many vin decoders floating around the net.. and the rpo codes should be on the car

AS was said above theres a few ways to tell visually. Its not a 100% but a pretty good indication. My 1LE must be a fake one cause I have a radio,p/w,p/b,p/m,p/s etc ;D

Small world huh ?! I remember meeting Larry once or twice at SNKs. You really should head down to his shop and see his new projects. Hes tubbing a 68 Z28 and a 94 RX7. Hes cut out the floors and is in the process of making the frames. I think the RX7 belongs to the guy who owns the turbo/nitrous R 100. I cant remember his name but I work with one of his good friends Andrew. Give Shane a call cause hes got blue prints for some sweet weld in subframe connectors that I had him fab up for my car.

Seen the RX7 and helped work on Gary's R100 while it was at CC racing. As for the frame connectors, I already have em in my car. Sweet lookin car by the way, you really have to come out to one of our meets next summer.
