All 3rd Gens that have a 350 came with a automatic transmision. Only the 305 has a 5-speed. If soemone tells you that he has a 350 5-speed he's lieing or had replaced the engine. At a quick glance there had to tell apart.

Ya I wonder why they never came with the 350/5pd combo. I know mine has a 350/5spd :D, but it would have been nice if they had came that way from the factory :(

i got a 350 on my 5-speed but i put it in, they didnt do that combo in the day because the t-5 cant handle the torque

but Ive heard rumours of like 6 that were made in 87 or 88 with a 350 5-spd............ Never ever seen one but ive heard about em.. my 88 IROC Vert is a 350 Tpi 5spd.. but it was originally a 305 tbi auto

HAHA I knew some idiot was going to say that. After 98 GM handled all SS camaros except the ones in which the buyer optioned for the SLP treatment. Only 93-97 SS's were all SLPs.
So in conclusion all 98-02 camaro SS's were handled by GM except the ones which were optioned for SLP. :police:

actually SS is 96-97 only for the LT1 cars. where did you hear SLP stopped doing them? they produced the hoods, spoilers etc. 96-02 there stuff is high quality too, i dont see how you think its junk

No that's not the reason I don't like SLP. I hate SLP exhaust systems, I hate their cold air kit for LS1s and I hate their long tube headers. That's really the only stuff I have looked into at SLPonline.com. After viewing those 3 products I left due to the insane overpricing. That's what it pretty much boils down to, SLP is over priced.

I'm almost 100% sure that you could get an SS that didn't go to SLP. GM just assembled a z28 with SLP parts for the SS appearance. They came with SS serial numbers because technically they were SS cars, just not outfitted with SLP stuff.

well theres really nothing on the car that is slp, the shocks are blistiens and the hood etc are made for gm by a company. slp might make them in house but even so they are mint hoods. slp loudmouth exh are cool, they sound mint. besides msrp on a site isnt real cost, there are some slp dist. in washington with good pricing
