Gear Drive

hey just wondering how hard would it be for me to install a edelbrock gear drive set on my 350? the thing is that the motor is in the car do i need to pull the motor :ugh: i really dont know so if you can help me out please let me know thanks ryan

Dude, a gear drive is that last thing you need to worry about. Get that piece of shit running right before you spend money on stuff that won't make much of a difference! The carb is your first and foremost concern. The rest can follow.

To answer the question, a gear drive is no harder to install than a normal timing chain. Remove the fan shroud, fan, probably a few accesories, water pump, crank pulley, harmonic damper, and then the timing cover. 3 bolts (if I remember right) on the cam and the old gears slide off.

I dont know if your car is computer controled or not but I had problems with mine when I ran a Pete Jackson noisy gear drive with false knock readings.

gear drives are ghey and sloppy.

get a good true roller like a cloyes hex-a-just you'll be much better off and i think they're a bit cheaper aswell

anyhting more then a 406 is gay for a SBC you should of built a big block for that much cubes. :gay:
