i heard you could easily bolt in a corvette rear end under my iroc-z, causing me to be able to fit 295 rears tires on it? is this easily done? or will i have to buy other parts besides the rear end? would i be able to fit my stock rims and tires on for the time being???

Here is a full conversion for a first gen camaro, looks like quite a bit of work though :noes:

considering corvette is independant rear, not solid axle, it would be way too much work :noes:

Since 62 anyway

There is TONS of work invovled, by no means drop in. There was a good thread on TGO about the rear end swap and I can tell you it isnt worth the trouble.

what could have been heard also is the ultra rare Dana 44 rear that was in IROC's which is the same rear as a vette. It was just designed for Camaro's.

Hard to find.

some things I noticed about the IRS install

-the main supports are welded to the body not the subframe
-they hacked up a unibody car cutting into structural panels
-there is an extensive use of thick steel very heavy
-it looks like a child did the welding
-over all it looks like a backyard hack job
-but seeing how the rear is installed with some thought and planning with some custom peices it could be done
