Got busted yesterday nite by the :police: for my tint on the side windows of my camaro. He was nice about it unlike most traffice cop. Gave me a inspection warning. Basically have it taken off within the next 7 days and get it inspected or I will receive a $600 ticket. Now $600?? I call that a bluff but I'm not gonna test him. Anyone know a good place to re-tint the windows (passenger and driver side) for fairly cheap? or anyone knows how to do it good?

Detail Concepts in Langley on 200th and The By Pass does window tinting, i wont speak for quality because ive never had anything tinted there before though. worth checking out.

I got one of those bullshit warnings too. Said I had to show up at the station with my tint off within 15 days. You won't get a ticket if you don't show up. You will however, get a ticket if they pull you over again and you still have the tint on your car. I never showed up and I got the ticket like 8 months ago and I still haven't had any problems. Just role your windows down when cops are near :D

I wouldn't go to those lengths just for a tint warning.

id just leave it...after the 7 days you wont be issued a ticket so who cares.

Either way you were lucky not to get a ticket and VI this time around. Next time you probably will anyway regardless of if you follow their warning procedures.

I got a VI for mine

for some reason the previous owner of my car only tinted the pass side....would that still get me a ticket as retarded as it looks? and also what about getting tinted glass so it looks stock....im not talking about a layer of tint im talking actual tinted glass...

Yes, the fact that it is only on one side and looks stupid might make the cop feel sorry for you and let you off with a warning, but it's just as illegal. As for tinted glass, it's really a matter of opinion at the time. if the cop thinks they are tinted, he will issue the inspection. under inspection it will be obvious they are tinted. However if it is a light tint, or he looks for the edge of the tinting, he might think it is just stock. No one wants a VI, they cost money better spent on parts, and can even take your vehicle off the road if they are picky enough.

Get VIs done by someone friendly. They are one of the easiest ways for a shop to make a few bucks off you. they just nitpick, and most people get the work done there so they can make the job as big as they want.

Generaly refered to as a "saftey inspection" by the po-leese. A cop they had on C-fox claimed there is no such thing as a "vehicle inpection" The reason the decitful bastard could say that is because they call it a saftey inspection. Cops will try to mislead you about the law if it to their advantage. I had a long conversation about that with an off duty detective once. He told me that learnig how to lie to the public to get them to do or say what you want is part of their training. Remember: the police are under NO obligation to inform you of the law, it is your job to know it.

That all depends on the officer that issued the #3 Notice and Order. If he/she chooses to track you down...
